Last 2 weeks

The last 2 weeks of school I didn't take the pictures off my camera, and now I don't know which is week 6 or week 7. I decided to combine them, and just give a brief summary of our weeks. Stitch has learned how to add, subtract and multiply fractions. We talked a lot about the Midwest, and the different types of land. He studied calcium, and what foods are the best for us, and how much of each is consumed in a serving. He learned about the anatomy of a plant. He had a paper due on both Johnny Appleseed and Dr. Seuss. Whom we talked a lot about this week. We also decided to work on our presidents again. We started them for 3rd grade and got to the 16th president Lincoln. We are excited to start learning about History again.

Minnie Mouse worked on her letters "G" and "A" these 2 weeks. I don't teach the letters of the Alphabet in order, as I have read children need to identify them outside of the song. Sometimes when they learn them in order they are only learning them in sequence to the song and therefor think "K" could be "D" as it is next in the song. Anyway, we also worked on our handwriting numbers 7 and 4. We talked a lot about both Johnny Appleseed and Dr. Seuss. Of course she had to wear apples while learning about Johnny. We started to do a little subtraction. we did button sorting her favorite, and we worked together with Stitch on plants.

We had a great 2 weeks, we are looking forward to talking about Autumn and what makes the leaves change. Our favorite time of year.
